Easley, SC (June 26, 2008) – Today Pickens County announced that The Cliffs Communities is giving $10,000 to support the Big League Baseball World Series, which will be played for the eighth consecutive year this summer at JB “Red” Owens Complex in Easley, SC.
“Pickens County is blessed to have a strong community partner in The Cliffs Communities,” said Jennifer Willis, Pickens County Councilwoman. “They and their property owners are great proponents of healthy, active lifestyles and outdoor recreation. Paired with matching funds from Pickens County, this tremendous show of support will help ensure the event’s success.”
Today at 4:00 PM, representatives from The Cliffs Communities will make a special check presentation to the Big League Baseball World Series at the JB “Red" Owens Complex in Easley.
“The Big League Baseball World Series is a signature event for Pickens County that gives young people an opportunity to reflect the work ethic and quality of life that are the hallmark of this area,” said Rick Fisher, Foundation Director for The Cliffs Communities. “The Cliffs welcomed the opportunity to support the tournament, and we look forward to attending and cheering these kids on to a championship.”
The Big League Baseball World Series will be played for the 8th consecutive year in Easley, SC. The tournament will feature 11 teams of 16-18 year olds from around the world. Tournament dates are July 26 – Aug 2.
