There have been numerous studies done on the common traits of the most successful people in the world. From Plato to Lincoln, from Gandhi to Edison, they all had one thing in common: They were able to tap the amazing power of their subconscious mind by mastering their thoughts. The human mind truly is an amazing cognitive instrument that possesses the mysteries of an undiscovered frontier. Universities have proven we only use about 10 % of our mind’s capacity. I maintain that most people never fully utilize the magnificent power between their ears. But how can you tap into the power of your mind?
The answer lies in you. That’s right--Your thoughts are the fuel of your mind’s potential. Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote, “You are what you think about all day.” Marcus Aurelius, the great Roman emperor once said, “A man’s life is what his thoughts make of it.” But Buddha conveyed it a little more forcefully: “All that we are is the result of what we have thought about. The mind is everything. What we think, we become.” Believe it or not, every person is where they are in life right now because that is where they really want to be, whether they know it or not. Sure, environmental and social factors affect your status, but your ability to control your thought process is the key to being able to rise above adverse situations. The Bible says, “As you sow so shall you reap.” What you plant in your mind today with your ideas and thoughts will inevitably produce your actions tomorrow. What are you going to plant? You have a choice!
