10 HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE STRESS MANAGERS

  1. Effective Stress Managers know how to relax.  It is very important to learn how to let go of tension, relax your body and quiet your mind.
  2. Effective Stress Managers eat right and exercise often.  Be careful what you put into your mouth.  Engage in some form of physical activity regularly.
  3. Effective Stress Managers get enough sleep.  Don’t burn the candle at both ends.  Go to bed and wake up at the same and achieve at least 7 hours of sleep.
  4. Effective Stress Managers don’t worry about the unimportant stuff.  Put things into perspective.  Know the difference between what is truly important and what is not. 
  5. Effective Stress Managers don’t get angry often.  Avoid losing your temper.  Remain in control of your anger so that it doesn’t become destructive.
  6. Effective Stress Managers are organized.  Be in control over your environment.  A cluttered and disorganized life leads to a stressed life.
  7. Effective Stress Managers manage their time efficiently.  Use your time effectively.  Be in control of your schedule by prioritizing.
  8. Effective Stress Managers have and make use of a strong social support system.  Spend time with your family, friends, and acquaintances.  Have people in your life who listen to you and care for you.
  9. Effective Stress Managers live according to their values.  Know what is important and what is not.  Make sure your goals are significant and worthwhile.
  10. Effective Stress Managers have a good sense of humor.  Laugh at life’s hassles and annoyances.  Laugh at yourself, and don’t take yourself too seriously.
