It is a proven fact that people who set goals are more successful in every area of their lives than people who don’t. Studies show that writing down & visualizing your goals with positive emotion increases the success 9 fold. Sadly, only 7% of Americans have a visual picture of their goals and less than 3% have written goals.
When you decide on a goal and write it down, it affects a part of your brain called the Reticular Activating System, which controls what you focus on. By looking at your written goal(s) on a regular basis, your brain’s RAS unconsciously moves you toward your goal(s) by creating urges, hunches, ideas, behavior and the necessary energy to fulfill your goal(s). To increase your success, write your goal(s) in the present tense, read it several times daily, visualize your goal(s) already accomplished and associate positive feelings to your goal(s) successful outcome. The pictures and emotions that you associate to your goal’s completion and the consistency in which you focus on it is the key.
Goals are very powerful. Your goals decide your appointments. Your goals choose your mentors. Your goals decide the value you place on time. Your goals decide who will pursue you for the hidden solutions within you. Your goals decide what you focus on. Your goals determine your attitude. And it is your goals that ultimately determine your future. What are your wellness goals? “So I run straight to the goal with purpose in every step.” I Corinthians.9:26 a
