La Metairie

A small landholding in France is known as La Metairie. Our French inspired house after the same name conveys the feeling of a country cottage with its typically Old World construction materials, and design. We have attempted to recreate the country charm of a French “cottage” in a new version suited for today's lifestyles. Design elements reminiscent of French country design such as exposed rafter tails, stone construction accented by heavy timbers and infill of brick or stucco echo the charm of another world. 

This efficient floor plan offers a comfortable 2,941 square feet of space and conveniences of an open floor plan with character. A master bedroom suite on the ground floor overlooks the front, walled garden and has easy access to the rest of the house. A large great room with fireplace adjoins a generous kitchen and breakfast area. A room for dining or study overlooks the covered autumn porch with outside fireplace...The perfect setting for those chilly evenings.

Reached by stair or convenient elevator, the second floor is full of surprising space for the active family. A room for an office or study lies at the top of the steps and overlooks the great room below.

Additional room for a fourth bedroom or playroom is next to this space and a large bonus area above the garage offers great possibilities for a large play/media room.

All in all, this house is surprisingly large and elegant for a "small landholding."
