Mountain Laurel II

Our Mountain Laurel II appears to be similar to the Mountain Laurel 1, yet here are some major differences in how this house functions. 

This 2,860 square foot plan is designed specifically for a sloping site that allows for a lower level walk-out in lieu of a second floor. As many mountain and lake front properties offer this potential, a lower level takes full advantage of resultant space below the house and frees up space above the first floor for high, vaulted ceilings, heavy wood trusses, bright clerestories and dormer windows that allow the sun to stream in. A covered autumn porch and exterior fireplace open off the great room and master bedroom.

A large deck off the dining room provides extra entertaining and dining area outside. The centrally located, open stair adds to the airy quality of spaces above and below. There, two additional bedrooms and a den open to a stone terrace with summer kitchen for cookouts by the lake on hot summer days.
