Blue Ridge Forever
Conserving precious natural resources
To ensure future generations can enjoy the beauty and surroundings of the southern Blue Ridge Mountains, The Cliffs Communities has partnered with Blue Ridge Forever, a coalition of 13 local and national land conservancies, including the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy. This coalition has the common goal of protecting 50,000 acres in Western North Carolina, an area consisting of some of the world’s most ecologically rich temperate forests and home to many endemic species of animals and plants.
The Cliffs Communities will purchase a one-year land trust membership from Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy* on behalf of every new property owner in our North Carolina communities.
The Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy is a volunteer-based
non-profit organization that works with individuals and local communities to
conserve the clean water, unique plant and animal habitat and scenic beauty
of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. In the last three decades, the
conservancy and its 1,500 members have protected more than 37,000 acres,
including key sites adjacent to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park,
along the Blue Ridge Parkway, and in the Highlands of Roan.
