Located at the leading edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains on the shores of Lake Keowee, the 160-acre Keowee Falls golf course marries a challenging par-72, 7,171-yard layout with the incomparable aesthetics of a pure, core golf experience.
Jack Nicklaus’ second Signature Golf Course at The Cliffs is named after Falls Creek, which winds its way through seven holes. The course stretches across rolling, mountainous terrain with numerous elevation changes, tree-lined fairways, streams, ponds and lengthy par-3s.
In many ways, this is a golfer’s dream. With heavily wooded surroundings, wildflowers, ravines and the largest known fruit-bearing North American Pear Tree in the country (found on hole 15), it is easy to feel like you are simply taking a walk through a national park…and clubs are optional. For low- and high-handicaps alike, The Cliffs at Keowee Falls golf course will undoubtedly offer a challenging, yet highly enjoyable round.

“In the case of The Cliffs, the difference in the pieces of property creates the unique look, personality and strategy of each course we have designed for them. With limited housing surrounding the course at Keowee Falls, I think we were able to maximize the piece of land.” -Jack Nicklaus
The Nicklaus name has long been associated with greatness on the golf course – both as a professional player and designer. Jack has been honored with every significant award that recognizes excellence in course design and development.
Nicklaus Design has created more than 340 golf courses around the world, with as many as 90 hosting professional tournaments worldwide, including a number of prestigious PGA TOUR events.
One trademark of a Nicklaus design is to masterfully weave golf course design with the residential component of a project. Thus, in creating both Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses at The Cliffs, at Walnut Cove and Keowee Falls, he worked closely with The Cliffs to enhance the natural environment and create a course that are both challenging and enjoyable for players of all levels.
