Nothing brings the people of Hendersonville together like Music on Main Street. Featured music includes pop, oldies, rock, jazz, blues, gospel, and contemporary styles. Concerts are held on Friday evenings from June 3 through August 26.
The Carl Sandburg Home is where the famous poet, author, and historian spent the last 22 years of his life. It is a 264 acre working farm and was built in 1838. It currently holds his library which consists of over 10,000 books and personal notes and papers are also housed there. This is a national historic site and is open to the public every day except on Christmas. The property has hiking trails and a goat barn that visitors may tour.
The Flat Rock Playhouse is considered to be one of the top ten seasonal theaters in the country and highlights quality local talent. Their productions include shows from many genres including comedy and drama. The playhouse is in operation from May until October.
St. John in the Wilderness Episcopal Church is a nationally registered historic site and visitors can observe prominent, historical, southern families that are highlighted and tour the graveyard that hold many southern aristocrats. The church and graveyard are open from 9:00am-4:00pm daily.
Historic Downtown Hendersonville has specialty shops, antique shops, and fine dining, and offers live music, parades, and festivals. The downtown area includes a historic district is also a popular destination for visitors to the area.

The Center for Craft, Creativity and Design offers displays of artists and hosts seminars of local artists. The seminars focus on the crafts of Western North Carolina. The center acts in conjunction with the University of North Carolina.

Founded in 1992, The Arts Center is a non-profit arts forum that is locally run and operated. The Center provides galleries, workshops, art camp and classes with two artist studios for the community. Past exhibits have included works by Ansel Adams, Picasso, and Norman Rockwell. The Arts Center is open to visitors Tuesday through Friday from 1:00-5:00pm.
