Croft State Park was once originally part of a World War II training camp for soliders. Today, it provides over 7,000 acres for visitors to enjoy. Trails, campsites, seasonal swimming areas, and equestrian facilities offer plenty of recreational activities for visitors.

Hatcher Gardens began as a private garden in the 1970s. Today, it is owned by the city and hosts over 10,000 different plants and flowers. The garden also includes many trails and ponds throughout the plants life. The gardens are open during daylight hours.

The Milliken Research facility offers its grounds to visitors to come and relax. The grounds feature several ponds and large trees surrounding manicured lawns. The grounds act as a park for visitors to enjoy.
